Eyes Both Brown and Blue
LOST GIRL – Episode 312 – Hail, Hale – SPOILERS
Dr. Isaac Taft’s research concerns transplanting Fae DNA into humans, giving them Fae powers. Lauren figures out what Taft is doing and conceives a plan to sabotage his efforts. In the show’s first episode, “It’s a Fae, Fae, Fae, Fae World“, Dr. Lewis said that the Fae are “an evolutionary branch that predates humans”. (She meant “preys on”, not “pre-dates”.) The Fae’s evolutionary branch might have developed in historical times.
Tamsin comes close to telling Bo she loves her when, fully clothed but without her shoes, she joins Bo in a bubble bath. “Where do you get off being so perfect?”she asks. Bo replies that she is not perfect, and Tamsin continues: “Yes you are. To me you are. Your eyes are both brown and blue, your heart both strong and gentle. You’re virtuous; you’re a succubus. You shouldn’t be.”
Then a wet, soapy, drunken Tamsin climbs out of the tub and departs and apparently heads directly to Lauren’s place, where Bo finds her later. Tamsin, still drinking, is wearing a bathrobe and eating cereal. Bo will not be distracted from finding Lauren and Dyson, so the smitten Valkyrie agrees to help. Then Rachel Skarsten delivers a Bette-Davis-like line. “I’m gonna get dressed,” she says, “You should change that frock. Things are going to get dirty.”
Kenzi (Ksenia Solo) gets kissed by someone calling himself Massimo (aka The Druid, played by Tim Rozon). Shortly thereafter, Hale, who is busy preparing to become the next Ash, comes close to telling Kenzi he loves her. Hale doesn’t do that, but he kisses Kenzi and slips something into her pocket.
KENZI: “We all used to be friends here.”
HALE: “Dammit, Kenzi, you’re not my friend. You’ve never been just a friend. If anything happens to you, I won’t be any good to anyone. And right now, I need to be better than I’ve ever been.”
KENZI: “Why didn’t you tell me that?”
The only previous on-screen kisses for Kenzi happened during her relationship with Nate (Aaron Ashmore), which began in “Masks” (episode 2.12) and ended in “Truth and Consequences” (episode 2.19).
While Hale (K.C. Collins) is putting on his tux and preparing to be inagurated as the new Ash, Dyson hands him a small box with unknown contents. The scene has a pre-wedding vibe, as though Hale was getting married, and Dyson is his best man.
Trick (Rick Howland) rolls up the drawing of the winged horse seen at the end of The Ceremony (Season 3 Episode 9), and escapes the Dál through a secret passage. Emerging through a barbershop, he is apprehended by two “Blackwater-types” (played by Dimitri Pavlakos and George Tchortov), and is unceremoniously tossed into a car trunk.
Miscellaneous Info

Trick (Rick Howland) is seized by two hired thugs (Dimitri Pavlakos, and George Tchortov) outside Danny’s Barbershop which was, when the show aired, a real place on Lakeshore Blvd. West in Etobicoke, Ontario.
George Tchortov (Blackwater type #2) is Quinn in three episodes of THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY (Season 4). He is also Gary Yarborough in Justin Kurzel‘s crime drama THE ORDER.
Rick Howland is Daniel Dershowitz Sr., in Richard Elfman‘s musical horror-comedy BLOODY BRIDGET, in which burlesque Bridget O’Brian, following a series of abusive events, meets the Haitian voodoo deity of life and death (Baron Samedi, played by Jean Charles) and becomes a “valentine vampire”, empowered to defend women against the evil and oppression. A sequel, BLOODY BRIDGET 2, is in pre-production.
